WHAT IS A CLIMATE CAFE?

BACKGROUND

During COP27 in Egypt, as many of the world’s leaders met to discuss climate change, on a more local level, Force of Nature began hosting free climate cafes around the world for people to come together and chat about climate change and eco anxiety. Climate Cafes are relaxed, open spaces that offer people a chance to navigate these difficult conversations and turn their eco-anxiety into action.

According to Force of Nature, 70% of young people today are eco-anxious. I am one of those people, which is why I’m running a Force of Nature climate café in conjunction with other activists around the world!

Please join us to hear how contemporary artists based in Ireland have turned their concerns for the natural world into creative action. Inspired by their passion for the more-than-human world, these artists champion ecological art practice, through their use of materials, their collaboration and education with other groups and the sustainable decisions that they make within their practice.

This Climate Cafe at The LAB, is open to anyone and is a free event.

There is no obligation to talk, feel free to just come and listen if you would prefer. You are sure to meet some friendly, like-minded people.
