object - memory - narrative

11 March - 11 March 2016 4 - 5.30pm

In response to Bridget O’Gorman’s exhibition “In the Flesh” at The Lab, please join us for a short screening followed by a panel discussion on the topic of “object – memory – narrative”.

The short film “1921” is based on a play written by Lady Gregory and the third part of John Ford’s 1957 comic trilogy “The Rising of the Moon”. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion, with audience participation, on the topic of “object – memory – narrative” with the “veil” as a starting point. The veil connects the story on film with background research for the exhibition, but it is also an object loaded with meaning in both wider historical and political terms.

Lorraine Whelan will chair the panel, which will consist of writer Sue Rainsford and artists Eavan Aiken and Angela Anderson.
