International Literature Festival Dublin

The International Literature Festival Dublin is Ireland’s premier literary event and gathers the finest writers in the world to debate, provoke, delight and enthral.

The annual festival, taking place in May each year, features readings, discussions, debates, workshops, performance and screenings, the festival creates a hotbed of ideas. Whether it’s the mix of poets, writers of fiction and non-fiction, lyricists, playwrights and screenwriters, ILF Dublin brings new faces and house-hold names together in ways that surprise and inspire both adult and family audiences. Guests and audiences celebrate many specially commissioned events in the City of Words.

The International Literature Festival Dublin was founded in 1998. Dublin City Arts Office has committed in the Arts Plan to prioritise the development of the festival, in recognition of its unique contribution to literature in the city.
