Partners & Collaborators
Dublin City Council Arts Office works with partners and collaborators to deliver the Arts Plan.
Dublin City Council is funded on an annual basis by the Arts Council and has strategic relationships with the Department of Arts Heritage and Culture, Failte Ireland, City of Dublin Youth Service Board and Docklands SDZ.
The City Arts Office as part of Dublin City Council is accountable to the 63 councillors elected to represent the five electoral areas of Dublin City, and reports to the Strategic Policy Committee on Arts, Culture, Recreation and Community. It also makes regular reports and contributions to the Local Area Committees, and to the Lord Mayor’s Office.
The City Arts Office has identified the public (citizens and visitors to Dublin) as its primary stakeholder, but also has a strategic advocate relationship with the working arts community. This includes artists, arts organisations, organisations and individuals who seek to learn about or participate in the arts.
The City Arts Office is also developing a strategic Arts Education and Learning Policy in recognition of our belief that everyone has a right to access and engage with the arts throughout their life. The policy is also drafted to reflect the premise that experiential learning is one of the strongest assets of the arts in formal and non-formal education.
For more on Dublin City Council Arts Office’s plan for the arts and arts engagement in Dublin, visit our Arts Plan.
Dublin City Arts Office’s strategy for developing and supporting local arts initiatives is to work in partnership with statutory, community development or voluntary organisations that have local knowledge, are active in communities and can share with us complementary objectives of artistic quality and area-specific benefit.
Similarly, working with colleagues across Dublin City Council departments, we aim to add value, maximise resources and support local arts initiatives in neighbourhoods across Dublin.
