cohost, a temporary online exhibition space

Astrid Newman

Déardaoin 14 - Dé Domhnaigh 24 Eanáir 2021

ARC (IADT) & The LAB Gallery are delighted to announce cohost, a temporary online exhibition space curated by Astrid Newman, hosting the works of the 12 artists and researchers of the 2021 IADT ARC Masters Programme.

Live online from Thursday 14th- Sunday 24th January 2021, www.cohost.fyi is intended as a space for space to assume its role, for one or two or more people to host something together.

A collaboration between the IADT ARC Masters programme and The LAB Gallery, cohost provides an insight into the works of Karen Browett, Jamie Cross, Cian Downes, Nic Flanagan, Fiona Harrington, Anne James, Marie Lee, Barry Mc Hugh, Clíodhna Ní Anluain, Róisín Power Hackett, Vera Ryklova and Lucy Tevlin.

The works that make up cohost feel spacious; roomy, commodious, inviting. There’s an exploration of the narrower, darker and more challenging spaces that we inhabit but also a lightness of touch, a humour and recognition of our limitations. There’s both a pulling from space and projection of self onto space, and in the midst of all that, a wrestling with the potential in between.

cohost will temporarily exist in a digital sphere, and move then to a more permanent dwelling on paper. The cohost publication will be publicised at a later date, and will be available as a physical copy and as a PDF online. If you’re interested in receiving a copy, please contact maeve.connolly@iadt.ie
