To Assess Applications for Arts Grants / Expressions of Interest / Variety of Commissions

As part of its annual programme of work Dublin City Council through the City Arts Office receives applications from Artists and Arts Professionals for grant-in-aid, expressions of interest for use of Council owned buildings for Arts purposes and Public Art Commissions under the Public Art Guidelines, and other Arts related programmes and projects. These applications/expressions of interest are assessed in accordance with established and published criteria.

The Contracting Authority seeks to establish a panel to engage the services of providers of Arts and Cultural Assessment Services. We invite applications from economic operators with expertise in Arts Programming, Curatorial Practice, and Public Art, who can assist in the assessment of arts grants, public art commissions, applications or expressions of interest related to the use of city buildings for arts purposes, and any other arts-related submissions to Dublin City Council. 

The successful Panel member will be required to deliver one, some or all of the following as part of Arts and Cultural assessment services:

  • To review and assess assigned applications for Arts Grants, Public Art Commissions, and other arts-related funding opportunities in accordance with the relevant criteria
  • To provide expert assessment and record the assessment conducted including written feedback to be provided to the relevant applicant(s)
  • Take account of the strategic goals of Dublin City’s cultural and artistic development as part of conducting assessment
  • Evaluate proposals for the use of public spaces, building, and venues for artistic purposes, providing a written assessment and feedback
  • Offer insight and guidance on proposals for the use of public spaces, buildings, and venues for artistic purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Arts Office to ensure a fair, transparent, and impartial assessment process.
  • Act professionally, ethically and with impartiality and independence in carrying out the above tasks as assigned
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures and protocols which apply in carrying out the above tasks as assigned

 

Given the wide variety of Arts and Cultural applications/expressions of interest received by the DCC Arts Office, selected Panel members will be required to respond to specifications to carry out assessment services for specific Arts and Cultural grant schemes, open calls etc that fall within the above scope, but which could be quite different from each other and may involve one element, some or all of the above depending on the budget available/needs of the Arts Office.

An application means the submission by an Applicant of a completed Panel Application Form and associated appendices.

However, please note the Panel remains open for its lifetime to Applications, and Applicants may reapply where they are initially unsuccessful.
