Lot 1 - Arts and Cultural Programming and Co-ordination Services

Successful Panel members will be required to design the arts and cultural programme, source content and co-ordinate the delivery of the programme. Programmes should be designed and delivered to be emotive, innovative, engaging for the audience to create connectivity and foster an appreciation of the relevant art-form/be thought provoking. It is envisaged that for smaller events one person may be the programmer, and also project manager and/or event manager. However, for larger events the Arts and Cultural Programmer/Co-ordinator may be required to work with the support of an Event Management Company or other contractors in order to delivery on the ambition of the programme/event.
Successful Panel members may be required to deliver one, some or all aspects of the following services:
- Create, design, and deliver arts programming, including events, exhibitions, festivals, residencies, time-based works, collaborative projects, and site-specific interventions, in line with the Council’s vision for the arts and cultural life of Dublin and specific programme/event.
- Execute the programme to a professional standard on the allocated days and times, with due with due regard for the health and safety of the performer(s) and public/audience alike
- Provide artistic and creative direction prior, during and after programme delivery.
- Work in collaboration with the Arts Office and any other appointed contractors e.g. Event Management company, technical Production supplier etc
- Any other related tasks required for effective Arts and cultural programme design/co-ordination/implementation services
- Develop inclusive programming that responds to the needs of Dublin’s diverse communities, ensuring that the arts are accessible and meaningful for a broad range of participants and audiences.
- Tailor programmes to the target audience of the programme/event taking account of demographics and neighbourhoods, encouraging wider participation in arts and cultural activities.
- Any other related tasks required for effective programme design/co-ordination/implementation.
- Identify, recruit, and collaborate with artists from various disciplines (visual arts, theatre, music, dance, film, etc.).
- Programmes should include equitable payment of artists’ fees for their delivery time along with planning, evaluation, documentation and presentation costs.
- Any other related tasks required for effective programme design/co-ordination/implementation.
- Cultivate relationships with artists, cultural practitioners, audiences, funders, and local and international partners to facilitate successful programme delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and community organizations, ensuring diverse collaboration and support for arts initiatives.
- Any other related tasks required for effective programme design/co-ordination/implementation.
Marketing & Communications:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote arts programmes and events to a wide public audience to ensure strong visibility and engagement across multiple channels.
- Coordinate press and promotional campaigns to reach target audiences.
- Any other related tasks required for effective programme design/co-ordination/implementation.
- Identify and secure appropriate venues, public spaces, and alternative locations within Dublin for programming. Ensure that spaces are accessible and suitable for the artistic works being presented.
- Any other related tasks required for effective programme design/co-ordination/implementation.
- Oversee and/or have an ability to work with all aspects of programme delivery, including budget management, contract negotiations, and production coordination. Ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet the Council's quality standards, protocols and procedures.
- Ensure that logistical and administrative tasks related to programming, including scheduling, venue management, and production requirements, are handled efficiently and effectively.
Any other related tasks required for effective programme design/co-ordination/implementation.
Given the wide variety of Arts and Cultural programming within the remit of the Arts Office, selected Panel members will be required to respond to specifications for specific Arts and Cultural programmes/events which fall within the above scope but which could be quite different from each other and may involve one element, some or all of the above depending on the budget available/needs of the festival/extended programme of events.
