Join us for an exciting evening of drop in activities and events
This year as part of Culture Night 2024, The LAB Gallery presents an evening filled with artist talks, exhibitions, and performances!
5pm: Exhibition Walk-through
At 5pm we are kicking off the evening with an artist and curator walk-through of the Swimming a Long Way Together Exhibition by Vanessa Daws, curated by Rosie Hermon. Booking is required
7pm: Dublin Riot - What Happened?
At 7pm - 8.15pm NUA will host a series of monologues, duologues, poetry, and short plays about the Dublin Riots! These pieces are rooted in personal, autobiographical experiences and reactions to the riots, offering a mix of raw, intimate storytelling and broader societal reflections. Booking is required
8.15pm - 9pm: Exhibition open to the public
From 8.15pm - 9pm The Swimming a Long Way Together Exhibition will be open to the public to view. ‘Swimming a Long Way Together’ is a rolling art project, spanning the past 4 years, created by artist Vanessa Daws and curated by Rosie Hermon. Drawing its inspiration from pioneering swimmer Mercedes Gleitze, the work is a celebration of swimming and swimming communities across the island of Ireland, in South East England and beyond.
We hope to see you there!
